Olivia Edwards Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of To the spirits in the room by Cate Giordano. The exhibition explores the fundamental human need to interpret the world around us through symbols, signs, faith, and religion. Combining woodcut prints, video, photography, and sculpture, the work delves into the psychological interpretation of animal and mythological figures as representations of human behavior and the ways in which these motifs define our understanding of life and what comes after. 

Cate Giordano makes films, sculptures, prints, paintings, and performances. Giordano’s work has been exhibited at Galerie Christophe Gaillard, Postmasters Gallery, Microscope Gallery, Anthology Films Archives, Spectacle Theater, The Poetry Project, Spring Break Art Show, The Margulies Collection at the Warehouse, and others. Residencies include Onassis AiR, La Résidence/Le Tremblay, and Smack Mellon Artist Studio Program.
